Read a minimum of ten books over the Summer for your chance to win!

Every year, the Executive Director of Schools, Greg Whitby, invites students all over the Diocese of Parramatta to participate in the Executive Director’s Summer Reading Challenge.

An avid reader himself, Greg said reading provides students with the opportunity to explore their imaginations, develop literacy skills and have some fun during the school holidays.

“I’m a passionate reader and I read because it takes me to new worlds that I could never go outside of my imagination,’ Greg said. ‘It is a real joy to see our students’ eyes light up when you talk to and relate to the printed words on the page.

“It is the reason behind why we started the Summer Reading Challenge and I encourage all of our students to get involved in the joy and wonder that comes with reading,” he said.

The Executive Director’s Summer Reading Challenge is open to all students enrolled in Catholic schools in the Diocese of Parramatta. Students need to independently read 10 or more age-appropriate books during the summer holidays to go in to the draw to win one of four iPad Minis. To enter the competition, visit the Executive Director's Summer Reading Challenge webpage.

Entries close on Friday 6 February, 2015 and winners will be announced on our website on Monday 16 February, 2015.
